Hi everyone,

I have completed spike sorting and unit detection in the medial prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens, and ventral tegmental area in the rat brain. I want to identify neurons that are cross-correlated within each region and across the three regions. By using the cross correlation feature in Neuroexplorer, I can see from the graphs generated that some neurons within and across the regions of interest are correlated. However, I was wondering if there is a more objective way to identify this correlation. For example, is there a way to generate an index (using a software or a code in a programming language like MatLab or Python) that shows strong correlation, medium correlation, or weak correlation, using the times at which the spikes in each of the identified units occurred?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
