How can category theory unify different mathematical frameworks in computer science?

Category theory itself is for generalizing and unifying ideas and arguments and it is not restricted to computer science alone, in fact any physical phenomenon is viewed in categorical approach with physical states as objects and transformations (physical changes ) as morphisms. (see for example Lie .categories) Also one can refer Fundamentals of Lie categories by Zan Grad.
