I have hydrolyzed soybean oil with C.rugosa lipase enzyme and got around 37% hydrolysis yield after 24 h reaction time. reaction temp: 45 C and mixing speed 300rpm.
Can anyone please suggest me how to increase the process yield for this reaction?
The stability conditions of the enzyme are the main parameters that will limit this reaction to avoid its inactivation. Are you monitoring the enzyme's performance in this hydrolysis? If positive, you can think of raising the temperature of the system (beware of inactivation by denaturation of the enzyme). This is a case of chemical equilibrium and can also be interfered with by varying the speed and pH of the system. The pH must be acidic, but may facilitate the breakdown by acid hydrolysis (if not monitoring the efficiency of the enzyme in this reaction). In short, it is a very interesting and sensitive study to involve living organism.
