I am currently do my final project that on of step validate matlab to sap 2000. One of my graphic has suitable patter (has 24% increment), I think it is because my graphic is displacement of x-direction but the y-direction different.
On sap 2000 I also input acceleration at x-direction.
I really appreciate to discuss with you all. Because I hope I can get idea to solve my problem.

Sorry for my unintelligible question and late response, your second explanation is very interesting for me, although I have not thought of it to apply in my research.
I think I should find more information about cross influence as you say.

If the center of mass and center of stiffness do not coincide, then torsional effects will produce displacements, velocities, and accelerations in the perpendicular direction as well as in the direction of applied ground motion. This will be true even for the linear case.
