I am of the view that aboriginal involvement in NSW agricultural production is under-represented and new thinking and action is required to enhance this participation.
My question is focused on the role of governments in particular in the Central Tablelands area (where there are diverse land uses eg forestry, viticulture, grazing, grain, some broadacre, gold mining, coal mining/processing) but recognise private sector may be more informed on what has been learnt so far.
Have the champions of agriculture developed a view on this and has it been captured somewhere in the grey or peer reviewed literature?
Are there now agreed methods for encouraging participation? i'e. Does the IAP2 apply?
What are the governance implications of these learnings and how should Australian (NSW) government entities (extension agencies etc) re-position thier board structures, functions, and mechanisms of governance in response?
Is the line of questioning still relevant? I am happy to concede I may be off the mark and perhaps there should be no distinction.
I'd welcome comments from my network.
