Investigating spatio-temporal variations of hydroclimatic variables (e.g., precipitation and temperature) is an important area of studies focusing on water resources and impact assessment of climate change. In this regard, downscaling of Global Circulation Models (GCMs) outputs can be used for these investigations. This conversation aims to help a typical researcher learn the step-by-step process he/she needs to take in order to download precipitation outputs of CMIP6 GCMs for a study area.

As Juarez mentioned, there are multiple sources where you can have specific data download options from CMIP6. However, I myself have been gone through the same steps which I have found out that manual downloading options might not be useful. especially if you want to download multiple SSPs and GCMs and time periods. My recommendation is preferably to use python scripts. It would be very easy if you can use Python scripts and customize them for your purpose. I have attached herewith my scripts so that you could get through it and modified for your study areas.
