Greetings, we are a group of researchers having difficulty in preparing a thin film of copper sulfide (CuS) in the way of thermal evaporation, if you could provide your advice to get a thin film of this matter in good specifications?
CuS thin films can be thermal evaporation using Co-deposition technique of copper and sulphur. Your evaporator has to have such capacity to do so. Please see the following reference.

CuS melting point is very low with reported value of 220degree C. You had better to use a well controlled source such as a source for the evaporation of organic materials. Use a crucible and heater. Bear in mind that you need to check your evaporator source power rate. For example, a heating source has maximum current or power that you could put your heater on. If a heater has a larger power rate than your evaporator source power rate, the evaporation wouldn't work. Hope it helps.
