Climate change has its definite impact on crop growth and yield,in general. As I am working on herbs and spices, I wish to have some specific information on the qualities especially the flavour and aroma compounds of spices. can I get any insight?
There are no specific studies on influence of climate change on aroma and flavour but there is general consideration that aroma and flavouring compounds are secondary metabolites which are induced more when drought stress conditions prevail.

Thank you Dr Malhotra-ji....for sharing your wisdom in this important issue. Yes, drought stress have certain definite influence in inducing secondary metabolites to herbs and spices. But I wanted to know specifically about the effect of temperature (higher or lower) which is one of the major concerns of today's world posing challenges to all concerned.
