The Terraframe (formerly Talvivaara) project in N. Finland, which has ~25% pyrrhotite, has real problems with this, even in Boreal conditions, and controlling the potential for runaways in the heaps. Probably something you don't see in the lab, and assuming that you are using Sudbury tailings, which have close on 75% pyrrhotite, in practical terms this is going to be very difficult.
