I am curious to know, whether reaction of aqueous ethanol with graphene oxide can change (refractive index properties) of Graphene Oxide ?
"Absorbance response of a graphene oxide coated U-bent optical fiber sensor for aqueous ethanol detection" in this article they have mentioned refractive index of GO film changes in accordance with aqueous ethanol concentration. specifically they have mentioned because of molecular enrichment properties in GO film with aqueous ethanol concentration .
Unfortunately i couldn't find any detailed information regarding the molecular enrichment properties.
Kindly help me to understand this molecular enrichment properties in GO film.

It has been established that graphene oxide (GO) film could effectively capture ethanol. The study on “Absorbance response of a graphene oxide coated U-bent optical fiber sensor for aqueous ethanol detection” clearly shows an increase in absorbance of the GO coated U-bent optical fiber sensor (UOFS) with an increase in concentration of aqueous ethanol due to the excellent affinity of the GO film for the ethanol molecules. The molecular enrichment properties of GO refers to the ability of the GO film to attach more molecules of ethanol than on the uncoated UOFS.
