Mass/ volume= density.
Now i can keep a cube of ice of 1kilogam in a container whose volume is 1cubic metre.
I can also keep the same ice cube in liquid form in the same container.
I will get different density in each case . I don't understand significance and practical usage of density here.
Also if i keep blood and water in the same container in same amounts, what is the significance of density here?

Of course, because your container is almost 1000 times larger than your sample. If your container does not contain anything else, the average density is 1 kg/m3, independent for the state of aggregation. Why should it be different?
That, after reaching equilibrium, a part of your sample has evaporated, is a different matter. Depending on the temperature, you will have two phases in your container: liquid or solid + vapour, and tehse phases have different densities.
