Currently, solar installment at domestic level is at peak without any feasibility study. I used HOMER for an optimal plant size for green energy generation at community level. Please guide me about the optimality and reliability of this tool before making a policy to implement.

It depends on many factors, i.e., load type, load flexibility, key sensitivity considerations (cost etc.). However, don't just implement your project based on optimization results.
Majbaul Alam. Sir, Thank you for your kind feedback, but we consider these parameters in our study before optimization and even HOMER also estimate the impact of these sensitivity parameters. Still, i will review my decision/findings before implementation.

In our country, HOMER Pro is widely applying for the feasibility studies of the off-grid solutions such as the PV Minigrid, PV-Diesel Hybrid Minigrid, PV-Hydro Minigrid, etc.
The simulated results of HOMER Pro is very reliable and all of the projects are implementing by using these reults.
All of the officials and the project developers are using HOMER Pro.
There is no doubt that HOMER Pro is the global standard tool to investigate the techno-economic aspects of the off-grid, Renewable Energy based systems.
One point is that all of the input parameters of the HOMER Pro must be determined very correctly.
You need to carry out the site visit to the project location and collect the load consumption data. Then, you need to evaluate the relevant load profiles. Also, you need to know the costs of your appliances that you model in HOMER Pro.

The accuracy of the results from HOMER Pro depends on the accuracy of the input data. However, you can refer to the user manual of HOMER Pro to have an idea of the factors that HOMER Pro incorporates in calculating the output results.

HOMER is very usefull when it comes to carry out pre feasibilities studies on hybrid renewable energy systems. If you need to optimize your plant using multicriteria analysis (economic, environment and social indexes) then better shift to another environment.
