In Italy, one year after the start of the pandemic, we still have a home care protocol for patients with Covid 19, which includes paracetamol and watchful waiting. Physicians who violate the protocol and treat patients early with anti Cox2, antibiotics, heparin and dexamethesone when the reduction in saturation indicates interstitial pneumonia, almost totally reduce hospital admissions and deaths. Should we as doctors follow the EBM protocols, awaiting randomized double-blind trials or treat the sick with our experience and creativity?
