For the given conditions—hydrogen compressed at 30 bar flowing at 195 Nm³/h through a 50-meter-long UHP steel tube with an internal diameter of 34.80 mm—the calculations indicate a turbulent flow regime with a Reynolds number around 20,014. The velocity of the gas in the pipe is approximately 56.95 meters per second.
Using the Blasius equation for turbulent flow, the friction factor is estimated to be around 0.0266. With this friction factor, the pressure drop across the pipe is calculated to be approximately 0.056 bar.
This approach gives us a simplified estimation of the pressure drop. Keep in mind, for a more precise calculation, factors like the actual temperature, pressure conditions, and any pipe fittings or valves should be considered.
