Hello, I am currently a graduate student working on whole slice field recordings. We recently had to move our lab to a new building and the tech that had done ephys for 15+ years left. We are having many issues one being we can't get our signals to last throughout the entire experiment. Usually after input/output we would loose the signal or half way through baseline. I figured that was a wiring issue due to the fact that we had to solder wires to extend to reach the chambers. so I went through and made new wires to connect to the stimulator. On top of this we are having insane amounts of noise to the point where we can't really use any of the data. I have looked for manuals or anything to help me understand how all of the wiring works but I can't find anything. I'm not quite sure how to properly ground everything. If anyone has any tips, or knows of any manuals or pictures of their setups it would be greatly greatly appreciated.
