the peaks you collected are due to sodium alginate? Do you verified with a crystallographic database? The peaks could be so narrow in case of highly crystalline materials

Hi, instrument was aligned and it was powder mode , problem is that sodium alginate is semi crystalline, but here my sample gave these sharp peaks, moreover I verified this with ftir which gave the peaks as established in literature.

The powder was finely ground? This behaviour usually occurs when your powder presents some large crystalline and is not homogeneous
