Super P and Carbon Black have the same CAS number. So could some one explain the difference of the above two. I would really appreciate an answer.
Super P is a carbon black, each carbon black have different particles sizes surface areas and conductivity. Super P is just a very popular one.
Thank you so much Thomas Keith Ellis for your answer. I am after increasing conductivity. So is it OK if I substitute Super P with conventional carbon black. Would it make a significant difference?
It mostly depends on the best percolation path. Most carbon blacks are likely fairly similar electrical conductivity, increasing conductivity is usually a matter of improving how well your carbons are in contact with one another and your system.

I'm using a home made carbon electrode. Carbon super P is used as an additive to increase the thermal conductivity of carbon electrode.
Super P was purchased from MTI cooperation.

Sorry for the typo, not thermal. It should be corrected as electrical conductivity. For lithium ion batteries there are many commercial anode materials. But for sodium ion batteries there aren't a commercial anode materials. You could only identify some standard anode materials ( hard carbon).
