Preparing platelet from fresh whole blood in blood banks usually done in the same day and preserved in 22°C in a continues agitation during 5 days, just wondering, if the whole blood stays preserved in 4°C during 24h or more (of course less than 5 days), is this affect the platelet (count/function) ? would it be possible to prepare Platelet from this whole blood ? is it dangerous if we transfused this kind of platelet to patients?
