I am a 2nd Year Undergraduate pursuing B.tech in Engineering Physics , For last 8-9 months I've been studying about nanoparticles as nanoantennas , plasmonics ,Simulations on COMSOL, optical properties of nanoparticles , physics of nanoparticles - Reflectance, transmittance , Kramer-Kronigs Relation , Mie Theory and much more . I read many research papers and a thesis(Yu yuming) .

I couldn't choose properly which branch of Physics I like the most , so for that I went to a professor in my college to ask for a research project . He told me to study about nanoantennas which was new to him too . I didn't have much confidence on my myself so I chose a partner to accompany me . The Phd students couldn't help much .

I tried a NPTEL course of IIT-Bombay (Physics Of Nanoparticles and Nanostructures) to study in which the above mentioned topics-Reflectance, transmittance , Kramer-Kronigs Relation , Mie Theory and many more were there. The mathematics involved in these topics is very tough for me still I want to understand that . I wrote mails to the professor who made the course but there was no reply .

After these months , today I feel I've forgotten everything I've read . I'm just simulating geometries with knowing nothing about how a particular result came from the simulation. Why I'm getting such graphs? Why I'm getting such normE patterns? Now I'm stuck ,not able to decide what to study(I'm having my summer breaks at present) .

I want to do MS , seniors say that you need to have a profile concentrating to a single branch of physics (Like choose one of Astrophysics,Optics,Particle Physics etc.) and build a CV based on that . I like Maths , I like Physics (But I'm not able to decide which branch of physics I like the most. ) . For a change I'm studying special theory of relativity from resnick . I seriously don't know what to do? how to move forward ? Please Help , It's a hodgepodge in my brain.
