There's a weird issue. I have a stim box, which has 2 entrances, one called "act.", and another one - "ref". So if I plug a bipolar electrode in it, so 1 electrode goes to "act." and another to "ref", I see bubbling on only one tip, instead of seeing it on both. If I exchange places, where electrodes connect, I see bubbling on another tip. As I know, it should not be so.
So, do you know, what's the problem here?
Hi Denis, are these platinum electrodes and DC/constant potential in a water-based medium?
You may be seeing electrolysis (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolysis). On the anode you then see the larger oxygen bubbles, and on the cathode you generate smaller hydrogen bubbles.
Dear Martijn Sierksma , thanks for you response, you are right, it is an electrolysis of water. And later I start seeing very small bubbles on a second tip, but I wasn't aware that hydrogen bubbles are smaller, so thought there's sth wrong with that tip. Thanks!
