I am analysing a word cloud that the students created. They provided skills that they thought were important to be a leader. Thus, now I will count how many times have appeared each skill and study what are the most and least popular.

Content Analysis can be used in an interpretive approach whereby counts of whatever will not just be correlated, but also subject to interpretation; e.g. what do the various counts mean? Mixed methods.
Further to my last post, and regarding your project. Let's say that 'interviewing' is mentioned many times as a skill of leadership; beyond its apparent popularity, 'why is this?' Why do your respondents think that the skill of 'interviewing' contributes to leadership?
A purely quantitative Content Analysis project would just count most to least popular suggested leadership skills; but your added interpretive approach will go beyond this; e.g. my example above.
