Hello everyone. I want to estimate the Land surface temperature in my region using Landsat 7 and 8 (TIRS band) but unfortunately, when i downloaded the scenes, i can see all the bands except band 6 (TIRS) for Landsat 7. Moreover, for Landsat 8, the bands are up to 7 only. there is no band 8 to 11. Any guidance of how to get the missing bands will be really of great help in my research. Thank you very much

I agree with Cédric Aurelien Nguimdo Matsaguim Level 2 data is atmospherically corrected which is otherwise called Surface Reflectance (SR) and USGS currently does not provide atmospherically corrected thermal bands from Landsat. With Level 1 (which is not atmospherically corrected) Landsat data, you can download all the bands of Landsat including thermal bands.
In fact, if your study area is in the conterminous United States, including Hawaii and Alaska then USGS provides provisional Landsat based Surface Temperature (LST) Images via Analysis Ready Data (ARD).

Hello Richard Mind'je, i think the most direct physical explanation to your question is that you don't have any reflectance in the EM spectrum region of thermal infrarred because of the spectral distribution of the sun radiance

No problem Richard, you will find the bands you are looking for on that product, but they correspond to emited, not reflected, radiation

Hello everyone! My question is not related to the above mentioned, but to Landsat 8 images in general.
I am trying to find the band ratios to a Landsat 8 image. After the preprocessing of the image (from DN to surface reflectance), I implemented the band ratios to the converted images (B4/B2, B5/B7 and B5/B4).
The problem is that I don't know if I should create a false-color composite with those values, or if I should normalize the data of the composites B4/B2, B5/B7 and B5/B4.

Stavroula Giannakopoulou regarding your question, when you're preprocessing any Landsat 8 Scene, that is, converting from DN to Surface Reflectance (SR) or Atmospherically correcting (Level 1 to Level 2) the images, in effect, you're normalizing the data, as the SR band values would/should range between 0 and 1. Hence creating a False-Color Composite (FCC) from the normalized SR bands would make sense, e.g., for mineralogical applications such as discrimination and identification of minerals in remotely sensed data.

TIRS (Sensor) is only available for Landsat 8 not 7 and Landsat 7 has source errors. The TIRS bands are 10 and 11. What download platform did you use? Did you try with Earth Explorer?
