I have been told not to wear headphones, even on low volume, during mouse behavioural work as the mice have an extremely keen sense of hearing and it can affect their behaviour.  As behavioural work is most certainly not the most exciting in science, I was curious if anyone has experience with this issue. Some people I know do wear headphones, but only noise cancelling, well built ones and on a very low volume.  They claim mice cannot hear the noise in this case. Others suggest no headphones at all and are extremely cautious.  If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be very helpful.  Thank you!
