weak signals are events that make senses that something new is going to emerge or some new deep changes are in the way...
have had you experienced such cases? a news! a photo! a conversation! a film! a patent! an investment! introduction of a product, ... these are examples of events that are primary signs of future change that we label it weak signal.

yes, I believe that I had such an experience.
Back in 1990s I was doing my PhD in decision behavior and investigated various biases of individual decision makers. I was also looking for ways to minimize these when I came across Nonaka's model of knowledge creating (SECI). This marked the beginning of my next career path in knowledge management to support decision making and beyond.

I think I have some as well. One is while in R&D after submitting a patent one of the decision makers
asked me if any research has quoted these. From there I started getting into business analytics and understanding and curating trends. Now I see this turning Into opportunity as digital transformation.
