In the reviewer correction for one of my articles, the following statement is written:
Has the author conducted standard deviation analysis on all items and removed those with a standard deviation of less than 0.75? Or the authors use all the items of the scales?
I don't understand what the reviewer meant. Can you help me?
I have no idea. In case nobody else knows something, you may explain to the reviewer in detail how you did the analysis and simply ask her/him to explain you what she/he wants precisely and what it should be good for, possibly giving some reference. You may also direct this question directly as a message to the editor to clarify this before you submit the revised manuscript.
I would support Jochen Wilhelm advise to contact the editor/reviewer, but could you tell more about your design and analysis? Maybe we can get an idea what the reviewer meant. Maybe he meant something else? Removing items sounds a little bit like scale construction and factor analysis.
No, not scale development etc. I had built a structural equation model. But there is no comment about the model. There is no beginning or end of the sentence:) there is only this expression.
