Rubber latex are produced in Tropical countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, India China, Vietnam, Sri Lanka etc. We have initiated some work on utilization of latex coagulation discharge for algae culture. Is this a formic acid precipitation or ammonia precipitation process? If it is formic acid process you could remove C by anaerobic step and then go in for algae. This way bacterial loads in the cultivation tank could be low. In the ammonia process, it is bonanza for algae - keep the P levels adequate.

Hi Chanakya,
The rubber latex is coagulated with formic acid in small scale processing centres in Indian condition. For utilisation of waste water discharge biogas plants are placed. But due to improper C/N ratio these plants remain defunct causing air and water pollution. Therefore we want use it for algae.
