I need to a) know if its built-in hardware circuit network amplify the raw signal and b) if its built-in hardware circuit network convert the raw signal to an average root-mean-square (rms).
I have worked with this system and the answer is yes for both: amplification and rms is hardware-based. Moreover each electrode has also a preamplifier.
When I worked with it, actually, it was a bit frustrating not having direct access to the raw emg (which could be useful for specific physiological researches)
the signal is sampled at 1500Hz , band pass filtered at 8-1200Hz, rectified, smoothed and converted to RMS with a 20ms smoothing window. THe RMS is then re-sampled at 100Hz with a 16bit A/D converter and sent to the PC.
