I want ro try retro viral gene transfer first and then move to lenti viral system if it doesnt work well. Since gp2-293is known to produce amphotropic viruses which can infect human cells as well, i am trying it for HT29 and Caco-2 cells.

I strongly recommend PEI mediated transfection of all three plasmids (packaging plasmid, envelope, your vector) into regular 293T cells. "Packaging cells" invariably stop producing envelope or gag and therefore do not serve the purpose of making your life easier, since you need to troubleshoot them constantly. A good maxiprep of all three plasmids and a $50 tube of PEI is all you need.
