I have done degradation of methylene blue using my sample, bismuth ferrite nanoparticle under direct sunlight for 3 times in different concentration of methylene blue. But percentage removal for all trials was different due to different intensity of sunlight in different days. Has anyone had any idea regarding my problem? How can I optimize the intensity of the sunlight for my degradation? Or is it better to use a fluorescent lamp?
It is better to use a constant light source with proper arrangement instead of keeping the sample under sunlight.
Instead of sunlight you can try lamps of different wavelengths and light intensities.
If the results don't vary much you can report the average of all the trials. Simulated solar light is an expensive option.
Use of a sun-simulator will give you a better understanding rather than using direct sunlight. Moreover you may vary the conditions (light intensity, exposure dimensions) as per your wish and derive a more reliable controlled data set.

As Malsha said, you may use the solar simulated light source to optimize the condition by using the proper filter. In addition, If you really want to examine the influence of light intensities on the rate of degradation, you may need to vary the intensity or light exposure dimension, and the length from the light source to your reactor, etc. Then you can check those results with your current results.
