When you say "parallel universes" are you talking about how different hypotheses may lead to different self-consistent models, which may or may not match the actual universe?
Yes, for instance if anyone has discussed how various physics theories have come up with various multiverse (meta-universe) concepts, such as the hypothetical bubble multiverse postulated by inflationary theory or the landscape multiverse as proposed by incorporating sting theory's Calabi–Yau space.
I think that the details of each of these theories would be too complex for high school students, but was wondering if anyone has used these various hypothetical multiverse models to help students develop critical thinking and also possibly to teach the nature of scientific research and reasoning.
I would be interested in the Responses of Critical thinking, Confident and Intelligent Youth to these issues. Perhaps they would say :If by the Word 'Universe' we mean "All that exists in Time-Space" there is no Logical possibility of "other Universes".
Perhaps they would say: To exist at all a physical entity must have four dimensions Length Breadth,Width (in a complexity of co-ordinates) and Duration in Time and so 'one dimensional strings' are implausible , illogical , and unable to be proven.
Perhaps they would say the Emperor has no clothes . And much of science is bunk .
