Has anyone experienced reliability problems when using the MARKOR scale from Kohli, Jaworski and Kumar (1993)? Alternatively, are you aware of any papers describing reliability problems when applying this scale?

My team used this scale recently, when surveying managers of small and medium businesses, in four European countries. We obtained a very low Cronbach's Alpha, and are a bit at a loss to understand why this happened.
