Has anyone experienced a problem using staining with Neurotrace where it appears as if mainly the nucleoli are stained & somal staining is weak?

This is very obvious when we look at motor nuclei in the brainstem (e.g., hypoglossal or facial motor nucleus) and we see a bunch of bright very small spots of staining. We sporadically see this phenomenon and can't figure out why-- other times it looks fine!
