There is much textual analysis of Poe. In the Publications of the Modern Language Association Bibliography, look under American Literature, 19th century, see Poe´s name, type out individual works you want analyzed and you will see the wealth of analyses. There are also international Poe societies with websites and you can get information about analyses there. If you can read French, Stéphane Mallarmé
Thanks Mr. Orringer and Mr. Lynch for your contributions. My idea is to create graph representations of Poe's stories on perversion, using computer-based textual network analysis, to see if we can derive similar structural trends among the stories. I am applying Dmitry Paranyushkin's method as described at http://noduslabs.com/research/pathways-meaning-circulation-text-network-analysis/ So far I am getting familiar with some software applications suggested in the reading. I am currently working with The Tell Tale Heart. As far as I have been able to check, there are no similar attempts. I will definitely check on your suggestions. Typically, works on Poe do not use computer assistance, except in terms of word frequency. I would like to derive a pattern to see if such pattern can be explained by Poe's own theoretical views on aesthetics.
Although E.A. Poe was the child of actor parents, was unfamiliar with the theatre. However, it is generally admitted that stories like "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Cask of Amontillado" have all the qualities of a good play.
