Has anybody tried the UAR uranyl acetate replacement stain to carry out staining of a virus for TEM?
You may try 1% phosphotungstic acid (negative staining). Works fine for nanoparticles.
You also might try 5% ammonium molybdate (pH 6.9) with 0.1% trehalose (w/v) for negative staining.
