I think that RG did a big mistake after substituting RG score with h index. This modification declined the interactions of members for responding and asking questions. What is your opinion?
I agree that replacing the RG Score with the h-index was counterproductive for ResearchGate’s mission of fostering collaboration and interaction. The RG Score, despite its imperfections, encouraged engagement in ways that other academic metrics do not. Losing this feature risks making the platform less dynamic and may shift its focus solely to publications, limiting opportunities for knowledge sharing and community building.
If ResearchGate wants to remain unique, they should consider reintegrating incentives for Q&A, discussions, and other collaborative activities, even if alongside traditional metrics like the h-index.
I see the Research Interest score as the replacement for the RG score.
ResearchGate's h-index has no value for me, because it is much lower than other h-index counts, consisting only of those papers that are on ResearchGate and not other valid publications.
