I guess you mean the h-index (also called Hirsch index). See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-index for an extended explanation. By the way, I observed that the h-index calculated by ResearchGate differs considerably from that given by Scopus. I think it is because the selection of publications in Scopus is rather restricted, whereas ResearchGate uses much more publications as the basis for the calculations.
