Now a days, to alleviate the problem of bacterial wilt in tomato, wild brinjal (Solanum torvum) is used as stock and grafting is emerged as very popular technique specially in gangetic alluvial zone where the problem of the BW is very severe. But, some farmers reported that the fruit of tomato which is produced from the grafted plant, contains some unpleasant smell of wild brinjal..Is there any report of such problem? Can you please illuminate me? Or its just a misconjecture of farmers?
