Having god-beliefs, and thus NOT taking all the responsibility you can and should, supports premature hypothetico-deductive thinking (incl. "theorizing")(kind of ironically) -- which nearly always is bad (bad, unless you are VERY, VERY LUCKY) .

Religious freedom belongs to our sphere of personal jurisdiction in the sense that it is up to us to choose our religious orientation. Or, as Dr. António José Rodrigues Rebelo says, "religious freedom is a fundamental right that allows each individual to choose their own beliefs and practice their religion according to their conscience." Religious freedom is a hallmark of all countries where the political power and the religious power have nothing to do with each other. This is mainly typical of democratic and secular regimes. If political regimes imposes on their citizens a given religious orientation, then they are appealing to brainwashing and indoctrination, which is a sad reality in many countries across the world.

My point is that if religion effects people and is the reason for any significant LOWERING of self-responsibility (aka "Responsibility", including "social responsibility" , etc. **) THAT is bad. HERE, in this thread, I am thinking of all PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY , all responsibility of the individual human organism -- AND that being needed, literally, for SURVIVAL . As I see it, religious freedom can increase not decrease people's sense of self- responsibility, be it to assume responsibility for the existing state of affairs or responsibility to introduce upward changes in that existing state of affairs.
PS: As far as I know, too often the scientific literature uses interchangeably the concepts of responsibility for and responsibility to.

I am going to disagree to a LARGE EXTENT (and, in general : COMPLETELY) with the position that "religious freedom can increase not decrease people's [ BEST-CAPABLE OR otherwise better capable ] sense of self-responsibility" , i.e. correctness (to have wholesomeness) in-context, which is ONLY coming WITH significant and always (as much as possible) personal responsibilities. Showing such capability , if one is as well-adapted as practically possible, with the corresponding best responses, that one is actually capable of. (If you mean "sense" 'in the sense' of just for a seemingly large part, shown _and_ subjectively felt, that is largely in terms OF emoting AND feeling (i.e. where only such elements seem to have any clear prominence), and that affecting their belief and feelings OF now-so-called "self- responsibility" : that, by itself, would be delusional and such a state would not show such an organism in anything like a best adapted OR best-adaptive state FOR HIM/HER (i.e. if such feelings and related "thinking" were persuasive in significant situations (those situations where the response(s) can often be important)). I believe that with the related subjective contentment with just-with-those-for-sure "just beliefs" [, aka mere beliefs or those that are largely mythical ,] would only even subjectively seem helpful if a person is rather "messed-up" to begin with. Then, the subjective, personally felt/held feelings could, in effect, overwhelm.other good, then latent, capabilities -- those capabilities that could come or be coming to clear good fruition, otherwise -- OTHERWISE possible capabilities.
