Greatest challenges: designing sustainable options for social interaction and building learning communities. Most LMS do offer ok technical tools in that respect but often fail in helping create a sense of community. LMS providers need to stdy human and social needs of learners much more in depth with a focus on person-to-person interaction in building learning pathways. This is not about 'wrapping up' subject-matter in a pleasant form (object orientation) but about added human value (subject and inter-subject orientation). Example: Tools like Mentimeter are nice tools for determining semantic convergence but fails to trigger a debate on who contributed what, why and to what purpose.
Another issue is the representation of individual participants in the virtual group context (isolated tiles, windows, spotlights etc). This conveys a message of 'Ground Control to Major Tom' - learners staying in their pigeonholes, switching off their cameras in the worst of cases. What is often (some LMS try to supply this somewhow) is a social tissue that binds together - though in a very metaphorical but suggestive manner - participants and their diversity. In our case, where not all the students has the gadgets to support their online learning plus no access and stable internet connection, it's a big challenge to us teachers on how we will continue to facilitate the learners needs in this time of pandemic. Also, how we can monitors their progress during this time of pandemic. In response to this challenges, the school come up a system that will address the said problem which is to monitors learners progress. Also, we also consider the situation of our students where we should prepare activities that will both students can do by providing them options (online or offline).
From our study on the perception of students on the influence of COVID-19 pandemic on their learning: we found out that the COVID-19 pandemic has really shifted the dimension of teaching and learning. Students perceived that it has make learning a student-center. But the greatest challenge was access to online facilities and poor internet connection.

From learner's point of view, what we have gathered so far is that social isolation is one of the greatest challenges while on the part of educators technological glitches is top most.
The challenges consisted of students' and teachers' lack of experience with on-line management, as well as emotional deficiciency which were expressed in he students' motivation to study.
Another challenge is our pedagogic posture. More than ever, I try to become "a guide on the side, instead of a sage on the stage" (Charles M. Reigeluth). I propose them case studies, problem solving and a lot of activities to have them work during the course. I've shifted toward a student-centered approach and I won't come back to transmissive teaching. This is a positive side effect of the actual context...
Indeed, both opportunities and challenges are inspiring. However, there are places where there is no Internet Communication Infrastructure which does not make the e-Learning accessible to both educators and students. Yet, the future genius child may be in the are that is economically and technologically underprivileged. Essa pandemia não traz nada novo do que já estava anunciado como necessidade de transformação, mas vem mostrar a urgência da transformação do ser humano, do planeta e das relações na realidade social em geral. Vivemos um momento marcado por um cenário de incertezas e tensões, uma verdadeira disrupção da escola do presencial para o digital, exigindo metodologias ativas, uso de tecnologia e professores inspiradores, e, a superação do modelo de comando e controle. Nos convoca a um movimento de inovação, atendendo a um quase clamor de Dewey, ainda na metade dos anos 1900: “Se ensinarmos os estudantes de hoje como ensinamos aos de ontem, os roubaremos do amanhã”. Se isso já era perceptível nas primeiras décadas do século passado, hoje está escancarado. Esta crise não surgiu por acaso. Vínhamos protelando há muito tempo uma necessária evolução no estágio da vida humana, nas suas formas de produção do conhecimento e de outras formas de produção. Enquanto no online podemos propor tarefas mais de busca, de acesso e seleção das informações na web,, construindo um web currículo; no presencial nos propomos a discutir, organizar, construir e aplicar colaborativamente os conhecimentos.
É preciso buscar para isso novas formas de ensinar e aprender (o como desenvolver o currículo?), bem como precisamos revisitar o “o que” e o “para quê” precisamos ensinar e aprender (conteúdo e finalidade curricular). Quando pensamos no como, pensamos nos recursos educativos e didáticos, e uma das possibilidades, a utilização dos recursos tecnológicos digitais, das metodologias ativas.
No entanto, para tudo isso acontecer na sala de aula, há a necessidade de ampliar essas transformações, essas inovações para além das metodologias, atingindo o sistema educacional, suas organizações, os governos e as políticas públicas de investimento, democratizando o acesso de todos os professores e alunos, nos diferentes níveis e modalidades de ensino as novas tecnologias. Enquanto isso, cabe a nós professores lançarmos mão da criatividade, utilizando o que temos em mãos, as tecnologias analógicas, as velhas tecnologias, e transformando aprendizados em tecnologia (cultura maker), através de projetos “mão na massa”.

Indeed, students today are Cyber Nomands and the Cyberspace consumes most of their time their explorations of the world.
The biggest challenge is to get the students engaged in the online sessions. Its more challenging with younger learners, with less motivated ones and those who are not self-regulated. Learners tend to get distracted in an online environment and they have (false) confidence that the information is out there on the internet which they can access anytime. Therefore, the key is to make our online sessions unique, engaging and learning-centred.
