The two areas are so far away from each other. However, there are a great deal of membrane based process plants around the world. In addition, there remote sensing covers the entire globe. One May have to start observing abnormal behavior around these plants (if your intent is to relate the discharge to some ambient environment). Please expand on your question so we can converge upon a more concise response.
If I was understanding your question rightly , I can say that , there isn't any relationship between them , because as I know that Remote Sensing (RS) is related Satellites and usually treats ground or space phenomenons , where as GIS is related any phenomenon has a geographic location , while membrane filtration (MF) is a type of treatment related chemical processing .So from this point of view , i can conclude that there isn't any relation between RS & GIS and (MF)
The terms are far different; basic knowledge on these three terms ( GIS, Remote Sensing and membrane filtration) can be simplified as follows:
GIS, Remote Sensing and membrane filtration
A geographic information system (GIS) is a computer-based tool for mapping and analyzing features and events on earth. On the other hand, remote sensing is the science of collecting data regarding an object or a phenomenon without any physical contact with the object. while,
Membrane filtration process is a physical separation method characterized by the ability to separate molecules of different sizes and characteristics. Its driving force is the difference in pressure between the two sides of a special membrane.
