I only know that in geochemistry laboratory we have to run the basic process, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Rock Eval Pyrolisys (REP), then will be continued by Gas Chromatography (GC) or GCMS (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry).

Hopefully it will be helped..
