There are cities that existed sustainably before these measuring tools. I suggest the application of these tools on such cities as templates to record their historical performance, for record purpose; while lessons learnt should help recalibrate the measuring templates.

Generally speaking, gentrification means a change in the character of a part of the city, a district of an urban agglomeration, a residential area, originally inhabited by a wide spectrum of tenants, into a zone dominated by inhabitants with a relatively high material status. The concept of green smart city developed in accordance with the principles of pro-environmental, sustainable development is used in the development of various types of city districts. In line with the implementation of pro-environmental and sustainable development goals, additional green areas, including city parks, are created in urban agglomerations. Therefore, in accordance with the concept of green gentrification, green areas are created and the objectives of pro-environmental, sustainable development are implemented in districts and city estates inhabited by citizens of relatively high material status. However, in my opinion, the concept of green smart city developed in accordance with the principles of pro-environmental, sustainable development should be applied in various city districts.

With regards to the need for more improvement and development. Sustainability is one thing urban planners must beacon on to prevent deterioration. As to this, a city might be considered smart but it's sustainability is not certain. It therefore, calls for measuring tool which would be used in checking the citiy areas.

Green gentrification become a considerable tool for measuring the city's environmental development speeds.

The good part of this tool is it ability to measure equity influence on development character and adaptability...

In Rio de Janeiro this happens mainly in the most valued areas of the city where the existence of a higher degree of urban infrastructure combined with the availability of different urban functions (including access to green areas and natural resources) makes the value of real estate grow exponentially

In México City, in the neighborhood of Colonia Nápoles, the smart city principles took place. It was just at the same time that 2 story houses were demolished to let 10 story residential buildings be constructed. i think parklets and cycling lanes attracted a new population not only that of material higher value but for foreigners. Nápoles has been high material since long ago, but know it´s stronger. Although a lot other neighborhoods have this gentrifing processes. Green areas are very appreciated. Good luck.

Hello Antti Ahlava I speak specifically in the sense of urban and linear park projects, and especially in early gentrification processes.

One issue of concern in relation to gentrification is the displacement of cultural values, which were sustained by the low level of life of the earlier poorer residents.
