During my work I used Mega6 in order to calculate genetic distances between samples. However, I can't find the name of the units to these distances, and I would like to name it in my paper.
If relevant, for one gene I used the Tamura 3-parameter model, and for the second gene I used the Tamura-Nei model.

2 things in your question. Tamura 3p / Tamura Nei models and genetic distances are different things. The first are substution models, the genetic distance is the distance between two (or more) sequences. You may have use pair_wise distance ? therefore, the matri you have is the mean number of difference between the 2 sequences, weighted by the lenght of the sequences (for instance, if you have 2 sequences of 100bp, with 2 nucleotides of difference, the distance will be 0.02).

Tamura 3-parameter model, and Tamura-Nei model are two different nucleotide sustitution models, each have different parameters suchs as base sustitution rates, transition transvertion rates and base frequence... to choose a sustitution model for dna sequences and get genetic distances and filogenetic inferencies based on distancies, ML and Bayes, the model test (jmodel test) should be used. Then the genetic distancias for the sequencens, dependen of the sustituion model that be used to calculate it.
