We have a GE 3T 750w
I have a problem with the contrast-enhanced MR angio of the neck (see screenshot)
- we have a ring, like a "donut" around the vessels
Sometimes it is difficult to exclude e.g. a dissection, notably of smaller vessels such as the non-dominant vertebral artery
We use the standard CE MRA sequence
Do you see the same "donut" on your CE-MRA?
If not, which kind of sequence, and which rate of Gd injection do you use?

I added a sample image from a case from yesterday. I admit that this is by far not the most severe case that I had, but I think that you can get an idea. It is a clearly hyper intense central signal (artery), followed by a hypointense ring (more or less vessel wall) followed by a second (less) hyper intense ring. In particular for small size vessels (e.g. vertebral artery) sometimes really annoying notably if for example question of dissection

It seemed that the so-call 'donut' is everywhere but not only that you marked, right?
Two things I need to know:
1. what are the acquisition matrix and the reconstructed matrix?
2. how did you reconstructed the image -- by your program or else?
It looked to a recon problem.

ad 1: will check tomorrow
ad 2: reconstruction from the GE software on the scanner (DV25)
Are you running a 2D or 3D calibration? A 2D calibration on MRA can induce artifact.
OK. In that case it is NOT a recon problem, but a acquisition problem.
You might have scanned too early -- before the arrival of gadolinium.
Retry.
