Is there any way to calculate the volume of freshwater usage in brackish aquaculture (i.e. shrimp farming) ? If not, is there any research with empirical data about it?
I concern about freshwater demand because in coastal area, farmers usually extract freshwater from groundwater to mix with saline water. The amount can be significant to some extent.
