can someone send me the exact program for measuring free space of zeolite (i.e. Beta, Y, CHA or any other phase) using CO2 as adsorbate in a Micromeritics 2020 or 2020 plus?
for the last two weeks I am stuck with this problem, why i get 80+ points on the isotherm - while i set the program for 1 point - and normally it should measure only 1 point. it takes more than 24 hours. should not be like this. i don't know where i am wrong while setting up the program for free space measurement ? In normal circumstances, while measuring the free space for any material using N2 as adsorbate, it measures 1 point, and the measurement ends in 3 hours or so. Any engineer from Micromeritics here?
i found a shortcut to deal with this problem.
what i do is to simply run a normal free space program for 3-4 hours i.e. until 2-5 points on the CO2 adsorption isotherm become visible. then i open the report, and note the cold and warm free space values from there while the program is still running. then i cancel or suspend the program. upon entering these free space values into the actual adsorption isotherm, i get the CO2 isotherm.
for surety of these values, I left some of these programs till completion i.e. 80/85 points, and found that the final free space values were always the same as for the first 2-5 points. by doing so, i can save many precious hours and much of electricity.
still i wonder if i am doing it the right way? please leave a comment.
