Fourier and Laplace Transforms: These are the most underused tools of humanity. Just think of a move from time to frequency domain. Suddenly, we are looking explicitly at energy. Laplace will tell us the number of energy storage elements. Now, that new landscape of energy is a powerful way to look at social space. Yet, we have hardly done so. Otherwise, yes Fourier is a subset of Laplace. The former lacks the transient component of the latter. Still, appreciate the illuminating power of Fourier.
