You also should decide on what aspects of power you are interested in. In the earlier work of Foucault it is negative, power determines the subject through discipline. In the later work it's more positive and constructive. Power defines a room for developing subjectivity, it directs, but does not really need to use force. It's governing the self-governing. Also power is a relation in a social-net, it works both ways.
