For PhD.. I want to find a topic for my research in the field of Power amplifier design, is there any suggestions ?

Actually I'm trying to learn about Doherty PA that I can design with a Class J PA and another PA using ADS.
I don't know if it's a good direction that's why I'm asking for suggestions
By the way, I'm learning the design of those differents PAs using ADS.

While working in various transceiver fitted in an airplane, often I found power amplifier goes unserviceable first which is undesirable. Please try to analyze the problem and make a solution to enhance the capability of a transmitter.
A thing that does not let me sleep: 1kHz-500MHz Full-bridge switchable GaN 500mA "current source" amplifier for arbitrary(wide load band) sensor coil loads.
Here you have 3 parts:
- high speed Class D amplifier
- thermostabilized current sensing feedback
- compatibility with a wide range of inductive loads
The question should be more specific; narrowband or wideband; CW or pulsed?low or high frequency(i.e KHz range or Ghz range);Presumably solid state; Which Class(A, AB etc)Try to find first a good review paper perhaps via IEEE EXPLORE ; you always get an abstract there and in some cases the paper has free access.
You can start with a bibliographical research for the state of the art so that you can have a general idea of what you want to do.
You can look for articles from Fraunhofer IAF, they do many devices/devices for PAs at high frequencies (GHz). The challenging is usually the power density of the devices and the size....
