I have to extract the plant sample, isolate and characterize bacterial endophytes in it, and then analyze it. How long can I store the sample before I do this?
In original research studies, plant samples are used to isolate endophytic bacteria within 24 hours of collection. However, everyone tries their best to complete this process within a few hours. I work with plant pathogenic bacteria and can confirm that bacterial community in detached plants have very soon significant changes.
